Helen Broyles explains to her son, Dennis, that inappropriate language, girlie magazines and sexual/racial bias erode trust in the workplace and need to be replaced by respectful language and inclusiveness.
“Hey, That’s Not Funny” (4:58) Jokes about race, sex, blondes and lawyers are funny, aren’t they? Only if you don’t care about the long-term consequences of putting someone down as a way to feel superior, clearly not in keeping with a high-trust culture. Negative humor can affect the attitudes of fellow workers and lead to hurt feelings. The viewer will see examples of how negative humor effects people and then listen to a conversation about what’s appropriate in the workplace.
